Why 100% cotton?
Cotton paper is the best surface for watercolour and is also great for mixed media. 100% cotton paper is capable of taking multiple heavy washes, stands up well to damaging techniques like dry brushing, and helps keep the pigment looking vibrant over the passage of time. The surface provides the perfect level of brush resistance while allowing the pigment to flow beautifully across the page. Those that "upgrade" to 100% cotton paper often credit it as having had a greater impact on their art than the quality of paint that they use.
Why is acid-free paper important?
The best paper is acid-free and has a high amount of cotton. Using acid-free paper helps to prevent the "yellowing" that can happen in paper over the years, meaning your art will stand the test of time.
Can you paint on both sides of the paper?
Yes you can. Each book has 40 pages (or 20 sheets) and each page can be painted on thanks to the quality of the paper.

About this Collaboration
Anna loves to push herself to experiment with new materials and to understand their effect on colour and form. This innate interest led her to suggest that Etchr create a sketchbook that would provide artists permission to experiment with the application of pigment on different surfaces.
Anna has paired this mixed-paper sketchbook with a 2 hour recorded class to help artists to get the most out of these papers - something she hopes will be both insightful and rewarding. A bundle of digital compositions have also been included for those that don't want to get caught up with linework, and just want to focus on the beauty of colour and effect.
Etchr is proud to help bring Anna's vision to life and to create a product that inspires artists to push their own creative boundaries.

About Anna
Anna is a professional designer, illustrator and watercolour teacher based in Toronto. Her art can be seen on Canadian gold and silver coins, Starbucks holiday cups, young adult book covers and in vibrant murals in the streets of Toronto.
Her painting style is influenced by the decorative tradition of "Petrykivka" (Ukrainian folk art focussing on floral and plant motifs). She combines different traditional media, like ink and watercolor, with digital elements that add intricate, refined details to her designs.
Anna's goal in every class is to help students to progress, see the results, and above all to be enthusiastic about the medium without getting overwhelmed.
You can discover Anna's art on Instagram (anna.m.bucciarelli) or check out her teaching on her YouTube channel.
