Is Art Sparks a game or a creative tool?
A bit of both! Some people use it as a sketchbook prompt deck when they're not sure what to draw. Others turn it into a game with friends, family, students, or fellow artists.
How many people can play?
One person is enough. A whole table is even better. We've played it solo, in pairs, and in groups, and every time the results are wildly different.
Do I need to be an artist?
Not at all. If you can hold a pencil, you're qualified. Art Sparks is designed to be approachable for beginners while still being fun for experienced artists.
What art supplies do I need?
Anything that makes marks! Pencils, pens, markers, coloured pencils, watercolour, gouache, acrylics... you name it.
How long does a game take?
That's up to you. Pull a few cards for a five-minute warm-up, or spend an afternoon seeing where the prompts take you.
What age is Art Sparks suitable for?
It's family-friendly and suitable for creative people of all ages. We've seen children, teens, and adults come up with completely different interpretations of the same cards.

Nope. Every prompt was created and refined by the Etchr team, then tested by artists from around the world.

What kind of sketchbook will I receive?
You’ll receive one Etchr Mystery Sketchbook selected by our team. You can choose your preferred paper type, and we’ll choose the size, format, and cover colour.
Will every Mystery Sketchbook be the same?
No — that’s part of the fun. Even if two people choose the same paper type, they may receive different sketchbooks depending on availability.
What kind of sketchbooks are included?
Mystery Sketchbooks may include previous Etchr Llamated Edition sketchbooks, including special formats, colours, or papers from past projects.
Can I choose the exact size or format?
No. The size and format are part of the mystery, but we’ll keep your past Etchr purchases in mind where possible when selecting your sketchbook.
Can I return or exchange it?
Mystery Sketchbooks can’t be exchanged based on the size, format, or colour received. If anything arrives damaged, please contact us and we’ll help.
