About Zak
Zak is a stay at home dad, Artist and Product Designer based just outside of Seattle.
As a growing artist, Zak found himself seeking out quality art products that inspired him to create but was often frustrated with the lack of solutions that were available for the unique challenges he faced when making art. As is the way with many creatives, when he couldn't find something that suited his needs, he would try to make something that did!
His product design focus quickly turned to his passion for watercolour palettes. Zak taught himself to design palettes using software and a 3D printer and over the years he has made hundreds of prototypes, gradually iterating to final products that he was proud to share with the world.
Today Zak small-batch manufactures 3D printed palettes from his home garage, finishing each one by hand before sending them to artists all around the world. He has truly become a master of his craft!
About this Collaboration
When Zak discovered Stephanie Law's Etchr Mini Palette, he was inspired to create an even more convenient "after-market" carry solution. Having seen his wonderful designs pop up on social media we reached out to him to see if there was a way in which we could work together. After a few catch ups we all agreed that it was a good idea to work together to make his 3D printed design available to the wider Etchr community!
Etchr is proud to join forces with Zak to bring this Palette Case to life. Zak's commitment to innovating in an industry that rarely experiences change is something we celebrate here at Etchr.
We can't wait to see these wonderful Palette Cases in the hands of all those who support this very special project.
